Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province will host its own edition of the world-famous trail running event the MaXi-Race on June 10.MaXi-Race China Nocturnal Suzhou Station

The MaXi-Race originated in Annecy, France and became hugely popular for its tough mountain ascents and spectacular views of Annecy Lake, often called "Europe's cleanest lake".

The event has since become a franchise with MaXi-Races now taking place in South Africa, Ecuador and several locations around China. Suzhou will this month become the latest destination on the Maxi-Race roster.

Contestants in the Suzhou MaXi-Race will have the choice of completing a 15 km or 35 km trail, which will both meander through some of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in East China.

Participants in the race will also be served delicious local foods along the route, such as crayfish, a seasonal delicacy in Suzhou, and traditional Suzhou noodles.
